Remembrance Parade Bury St Edmunds 2026

Bury St Edmunds annual Remembrance Sunday service offers an opportunity for residents, families and visitors to come together to honour the courage, sacrifice and service of those who gave so much for our freedom.

From 10.15am, a parade will march to Angel Hill, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the War Memorial, a two-minute silence marked by a fire gun at 11am, a service at St Mary’s Church, and a return procession to Abbey Gardens.

Timings

10.15am a parade will march out before taking up positions on Angel Hill.

This will be followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial, starting at 10.30am.

At 11am, a fire gun in the Abbey Gardens will sound to signify the start and end of the two-minute silence.

After the wreath-laying, everyone will head to St Mary’s Church for a service lasting around 40 minutes.

Following the service, the parade will head back to the Abbey Gardens.
