An Evening In Conversation With Terry Waite CBE & John McCarthy
It’s 32 years since the end of the Lebanon hostage crisis and the moment when Brian Keenan, John McCarthy, Terry Waite and Terry Anderson were freed from captivity. Almost a year to the day after McCarthy’s capture, Terry Waite travelled to Lebanon in an attempt to secure the release of Mr McCarthy and three other hostages.
Journalist John McCarthy, and humanitarian Terry Waite, were held hostage together in Beirut. This evening they will speak about their experience there, and their lives before and after captivity. There will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions on the evening.
This is a fundraising event in support of Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds (Registered Charity Number 242977).
