Indies Week

Indies Week is an annual campaign run by Our Bury St Edmunds BID to celebrate and support the amazing independent businesses in our town centre. This year, Indies Week will take place from Friday 4th July to Saturday 5th July 2025, in line with the national Independents’ Day UK campaign.

Indies Week showcases the unique offerings of Bury St Edmunds’ independent businesses, which make up nearly 60% of the town centre’s businesses. As part of the campaign, we’ve created “Proud to be an Independent Business” window stickers to help shoppers easily identify and support local independents.

For 2025, the focus will be on the history of our independent businesses, sharing their stories and highlighting the role they’ve played in shaping our town. We’ll be creating posters and social media graphics for businesses to use and share, helping to raise even more awareness, tell their unique stories and connect with more customers.

We’ll also be putting up special signs along Abbeygate Street, encouraging visitors to explore and shop with our fantastic local independents.
