Bury St Edmunds- England’s Most Dog Friendly Town
Voted the UK’s Most Dog Friendly Town in the National Dog Friendly Awards 2024, Bury St Edmunds is the ideal place to enjoy a day out with every member of the family.
Dog Friendly Bury St Edmunds is a partnership between Bury St Edmunds Town Council, Camp Tails Doggy Daycare, Our Bury St Edmunds BID and the tourism brand Bury St Edmunds and Beyond which started in 2018.
Businesses display a Dog Friendly Bury St Edmunds window sticker and bowl where well-behaved dogs are welcome so it’s easy to identify where you can bring your four-legged pal. Dog Friendly businesses in the town centre are also marked with a blue paw on the Our Bury St Edmunds BID Town Map.
The scheme helps assist dogs gain valuable socialisation and desensitisation skills whilst at the same time enabling residents and visitors to stay longer in our town centre businesses knowing they do not have to leave their four-legged member of their family at home.
There is a Dog-Friendly Charter created for businesses and dog owners which provides advice and guidance on how to get the most from the scheme and operate safely.
