16/10/2020Town Centre Gift CardMany thanks to all of you who have already registered to accept our new gift card when it is launched later this month. If you haven’t signed up to accept it yet you still can and all you need to do is click on this link http://bit.ly/burygiftcard and provide the information required. The purpose of the gift card is to try and generate more spend in the town and obviously the more businesses we have registered to accept the card the more attractive it is to the consumer and as a Christmas gift. The gift card will play an integral part in our pre-Christmas campaign, referred to above.

16/10/2020Recent thefts of mobile phones in business premisesThere have been 3 town centre businesses in Bury this week who have had a mobile phone stolen. The offences have occurred when a male, in these instances, described as of Eastern European appearance, coming into customer facing businesses (beauty salons/estate agents) and asking for local directions. He will see the victim’s mobile phone, and cover it with a map, or random piece of paper in his possession, before thanking the member of staff for their assistance and leaving with the phone concealed under the paper. I am making you aware of this so you can warn your staff so they can be aware of this and so you can take appropriate steps to maximise evidential opportunities through CCTV/video capture.

16/10/2020Christmas Decorating of your businessesWith the challenges you are all facing, the run up to Christmas has never been more important than it is this year. We will be launching a Festive Period campaign during November and it would be great if as many of you as possible could decorate your windows from early November so the town can look at it’s best and get into the Christmas spirit a little earlier this year. We will as usual run our Best Dressed Christmas Window competition, with the winner announced in mid-December, exact details to follow nearer the time.
