Summer in Bury St Edmunds!


The Theatre Star Trail launching on Saturday 25th May which is free to everyone and will be running until Saturday 27th October in the town centre. To take part in the trail is FREE!, great exercise and a fabulous social event with friends and/or family and a way of getting to know even more about our town centre and it’s wonderful businesses.Trail leaflets and entry forms will be available from late May from the theatre and the Tourism Information Points at the Apex, the Cathedral Shop, Moyses Hall and the Town Council offices. There are prizes up for grabs for those who can identify each performer on the stars at the correct location and correct entries need to be delivered to the Our Bury St Edmunds BID offices in Woolhall Street by Thursday 31st October 2019. On Saturday 15th June, the St John's Street Festival is back, bringing us performances from local theatres, street food & demonstrations, make your own smoothies, beer, gin and wine tasting, rickshaw rides and live music and entertainment. This runs from 10am - 5pm where you can shop 'n bop all day in the sun!


The Suffolk Day celebrations have been extended to a full weekend this year and activities include the following; the Suffolk skateathon at Curve Motion on 23rd June, a Cathedral Tower Tour followd by a Suffolk Day Afternoon tea at Pilgrim's Kitcken, and an open gardens exhibit at Kentwell Hall on Friday 21st June. During the first week of July, we celebrate all of the wonderful independent businesses in the town centre with Independents Week. During this week we’ll be sharing lots of information and offers from our wonderful variety of businesses, keep your eyes peeled on social media!
