COVID-SECURE MEASURES AT ABBEYGATE CINEMA AS WE PREPARE FOR RE-OPEN
Following on from the success of our take-out service in recent weeks, and inline with the Government’s guidelines on easing lockdown, we are now preparing for the re-open of our No.4 Restaurant & Bar on Sat 4 Jul and the re-commencing of cinema screenings from Fri 10 Jul.
Our restaurant will be open daily, 10-3pm, for a dine-in menu which will include lots of favourites such as Loaded fries (poutine, dirty & curry), Alpha omega salad and a choice burgers and sandwiches including a NEW Jackfruit burger. All items will also be available for take-out along with our usual freshly baked take-out goods.
Our phased re-open will see cinema screenings back from FRIDAY 10 JULY with a selection of favourite film titles, hits of the last few years and audience requests plus of course Screen Arts high-lights – all will play out over Matinee/Teatime screenings. Moving forward we plan to increase our opening hours and build the film programme content as new releases become available all leading to the unveiling of our new premier screen with its full-size screen and state of the art projector at the end of July.
As always, the health and well-being of our employees and customers is our number one priority and below is a list of the measures will be taking to ensure a visit to us will be COVID-SECURE for everyone:
As always, the health and wellbeing of our employees and customers is our number one priority.
In light of the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and government advice, we have put a number of safety measures in place which will allow us to provide a safe environment for our employees and customers. This includes:
A ‘concierge’ will greet all customers for restaurant and cinema at the entrance door to assist with directing you to the right part of the building for your visit. This member of staff will also take details to support the NHS Track & Trace service (if applicable).
Unless Dining with us, we ask customers watching films arrive no more than 15 minutes before the show start time. This is to ensure a smooth transition through the building and upstairs to the toilets and screens.
Hand sanitiser will be readily available throughout the building, and a dedicated Hand Wash point has been installed so you can wash your hands without having to visit the toilets.
We will enhance our cleaning programmes to clean and sanitise the regular touch points such as handrails and door pushes etc throughout the building.
We have installed protective screens at our Box Office/Kiosk and Bar serving points.
All employee and customer areas will be arranged and managed to encourage and maintain social distancing within our cinema. This will include extra staff on duty to assist and direct you, and floor markings to help you queue, and a one-way system to help you route around the building.
A queuing system utilising the upstairs Function Room, will be introduced so customers can safely queue for the toilets before and after a film showing.
Due to the constricted nature of some of the transit spaces upstairs, staff and customers will be required to wear a facemask in these areas. This will not be necessary on the ground floor. Customers are welcome to wear their own – one can be provided if you don’t have one. Once you are at your cinema seat, or back downstairs, you can remove your facemask.
To allow social distancing inside of our cinema screens, we are implementing a new dynamic allocated seating system which will ensure a safe distance between customers from different households.
Film start and end times will be more greatly staggered than normal to allow customers to enter and exit without crossing paths with customers going in or out of other screens. Additional cleaning time will also be added to ensure a full clean and sanitisation process can be conducted between films.
Tickets can be purchased in person, but we would encourage all customers to book in advance to help maintain the correct social distancing measures. Cash will not be accepted for in-person sales.
Our kiosks will be fully stocked with our wide range of delicious snacks and drinks as usual. However, as an enhancement we will be introducing a ‘Pre-Ordering’ service online so your purchase can be made online, we then prepare and bag your order just before your visit – and you can collect it on arrival.
All our Dining spaces will have 2m distancing between tables.
We would strongly recommend booking your table with us in advance via our website.
When Dining with us, your food and drink orders will be taken at your table, with cutlery and condiments placed at your table after ordering. You can pay your bill at the table too, with card payments. Again, no cash please.
An “Order at Table” online system will be introduced in the coming days to enable customers to place direct food orders through to the kitchen. All employees will receive specific COVID-19 training and PPE will be provided where the risk assessment
