With its tongue firmly in its cheek, Crooners is a rip-roaring comedy musical with an injection of Big Band Swing.

 

Fronted by three suave and sophisticated crooners, backed by the outstanding musicianship of The Mini Big Band, the show is full of hilarious one liners, laugh out loud silliness and superb musical numbers from some of the greatest crooners of all time: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Matt Monro, Nat King Cole and more.

 

 

 

Turin Brakes

Turin Brakes come to The Apex to mark the release of their ninth studio album – ‘Wide-Eyed Nowhere’.

 

Turin Brakes released Mercury Prize shortlisted the ‘Optimist’ LP in March 2001 (achieving gold status in the UK), followed up by 2003’s ‘Ether Song’ which featured the top 5 hit single ‘Pain Killer (Summer Rain)’. The band has since moved on to rack up seven top 40 singles, seven top 40 albums and over a million record sales worldwide.

 

 

 

The Amy Winehouse Band presents: Forever Amy

Upon A Winter’s Night: Cara and her band capture the mystery of Christmas with a collection of ancient and modern songs, providing a welcome reminder that the festive season can be about more than just commercialism. Cara will be joined by her wonderful band who weave Celtic and folksy rhythms alongside reverent and atmospheric carols.

 

 

 

Stevie Wonder Story

Classic hits from Stevie’s songbook, including ‘Superstition’, ‘Sir Duke’, ‘Higher Ground’, ‘Master Blaster’, ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’, ‘Uptight ‘and many more. Plus onscreen footage of the cultural moments and movements for which Stevie’s music became the soundtrack. Members of the nine-piece band, have toured or recorded with Beyonce, Grace Jones, Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys, Pharrell Williams, Annie Lennox, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin The Temptations and yes...Stevie Wonder himself!

 

 


A Swinging Christmas with Jazz at The Movies
