Humble Stories at The Apex...

An Evening with Kate Humble on 29 March, will take you on an uplifting and inspiring journey, packed with travel, adventure and animal stories and full of warmth and passion for the natural world.

Born in 1968, Kate grew up in rural Berkshire in a house next to a farm. She had what she describes as a ‘proper childhood’ – building camps, racing snails and climbing trees, interspersed with trips to A&E to patch up things when they broke.

Kate Humble is now one of the UK's best-known and loved TV presenters. She started her television career as a researcher, later presenting programmes such as Animal Park, Springwatch and Autumnwatch, Lambing Live and Escape to the Farm with Kate Humble. In the new series of Kate Humble’s Coastal Britain, which started in January this year, Kate walked some of Britain’s most beautiful coastal paths, picking stretches that can be walked in a day.

A busy lady, Kate is also a farmer, best-selling author and entrepreneur. Her latest project, Humble By Nature is a rural skills school on a working farm in the Wye Valley. The range of courses include starting a smallholding, animal husbandry, hedging, walling, rural crafts and wild food cookery. Speaking ahead of the tour, Kate said: “I am delighted to be going on tour again and visiting some of my favourite places in the country. Although I really enjoy filming, there is nothing like getting together with an audience, telling stories, answering their – often surprising and sometimes very funny – questions and all of us having a laugh.”

An Evening with Kate Humble is at The Apex on Tuesday 29 March at 7.30pm. To book tickets, or for more information, ring the box office on 01284 758000 or see the website
