Ten Fantastic Fiddlers at The Apex in March!...

Ten Fantastic Fiddlers at The Apex in March!

Blazin’ Fiddles celebrate their 22nd year in 2020. With nine albums and many thousands of miles and behind them, and a passion that burns brighter than ever – no other band has quite managed to capture the excitement, sensitivity and raw fire of Scottish music all at once.

The Blazers blend solo and ensemble sets, so you can hear the regional expressions and diverse fiddle dialects from Scotland’s Highlands and islands. The four-fiddle frontline of Inverness’ Bruce MacGregor, Shetlander Jenna Reid, Nairn’s Rua Macmillan, and Orcadian Kristan Harvey, backed by guitar and piano from Anna Massie and Angus Lyon, all come together in a fiery blend to excite your senses.

From remote village halls to the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, Blazin’ Fiddles has delighted audiences with their tunes and tales, whilst embodying the excitement and passion of Scottish music.

“Bursting with joie de vivre and personality” - Songlines

“Absolutely mind-blowing” - Mike Harding

Feast of Fiddles are a celebrated collective that combine the colossal talents of some of Britain's top players in a flourish of fretwork.

Steeleye Span's brilliant bowman Peter Knight and Fairport’s Chris Leslie join forces with Bully Wee Band's Ian Cutler and ex Battlefield Band's Brian McNeill, Tom Leary (Lindisfarne) and Garry Blakeley (Band of Two). Added to the large range of fiddle playing styles is the rock back-line of guitars, keyboards, sax and accordion – all held together by legendary drummer Dave Mattacks, who has played with Fairport, Steeleye and Richard Thompson as well as the likes of Paul McCartney, Elton John and Chris Rea.

Yes, it's fiddles and yes, there's folk music but there's so much more. Each band member brings their own individual style, and together they visit many musical genres in a show with a wide dynamic range.

“Britain’s fiddling supergroup” – Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2
