Ally McBeal singer comes to The Apex...
American singer-songwriter and musician, Vonda Shepard is coming to the Apex in Bury St. Edmunds on Thursday 13 October, as part of her UK tour.
Vonda first shot to fame through her appearances on the smash hit US TV show Ally McBeal. As musical director, Vonda’s performances and musical accompaniment graced every episode, along with her theme song, ‘Searching My Soul’, which reached the top 10 in the UK. Vonda also released a series of Ally inspired albums, which went on to sell a staggering 12 million copies worldwide.
Vonda released her first hit ‘Can’t We Try’ in 1987 and followed it with ‘Don’t Cry Ilene’ from her first album on Reprise Records in 1989, releasing three albums in total before working on Ally McBeal in 1997. Since the TV show ended its five-season run, Vonda has released five studio albums and toured extensively across Europe and USA. She has also performed duets with legendary artists including Rod Stewart and Robert Downey Jr.
The multi-Emmy, Golden Globe and Grammy award winning artist writes bluesy, soulful tunes and has a powerful voice that can cut to the back of any room.
Her 2016 tour follows last year’s sell-out UK run in support of her album ‘Rookie’, which was produced by Mitchell Froom (Crowded House, Elvis Costello). Vonda says “I had so much fun performing for my fans in the UK, it was the highlight of my year and I cannot wait to come back and see everyone again”.
Vonda Shepard plays at The Apex on Thursday 13 October at 7.30pm. Tickets are £24.50. For more information, or to book, call the Box Office on 01284 758000, or visit www.theapex.co.uk.
