The Big Draw Comes To Bury St Edmunds...
This half-term, a new local group, Bury St Edmunds Urban Sketchers, are supporting the world’s biggest drawing festival, ‘The Big Draw’, by holding a community drawing event at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds.
On October 29th, a sketching station will be ‘popping up’ outside the Apex between 11am and 4pm for anyone of any ability to take part. The Urban Sketchers will be there to offer support and plenty of materials to work with courtesy of support from Suffolk County Councillor, Mark Ereira.
The theme is ‘Bury St Edmunds Inside Out’ and participants will be encouraged to use their memories and imagination to draw the landscapes and buildings that make Bury St Edmunds a unique place for them personally.
At the end of the activity the drawings, along with artwork created by Tollgate Primary School, will form an exhibition inside the Apex.
‘Bury St Edmunds Urban Sketchers’ was started by Deborah Pipe and Jacquie Campbell in June 2014. The idea being to encourage the community to explore and draw their surroundings.
