Looking Ahead to 2015 At Bury St Edmunds Library ...

The Bury Library would like to wish everyone a very happy New Year! 2015 is set to be a stellar year for the library, with shiny new computers already installed in the Sound & Vision centre. Now able to access Word, Excel and use your USB stick to work on documents whilst browsing the internet, the library is becoming a home from home for many members.

It's all about to change in the Children's library too. Each month in 2015, the area will be transformed into a fun and educational theme where children can enjoy interactive displays and craft activities. January kicks off with a 'To the Moon!' theme. Join the Bury Library Space Corp and explore the moon and space, make a 'Space Race' board game and enjoy story and craft sessions every weekend.

The new Bookstart Bookgroup for parents and toddlers is set to start on Friday 9th January with popular picture stories being read over five weeks. Such classics as 'Rumble in the Jungle,' 'Monkey Do!' and 'Peepo!' will all feature.

Ever wondered about your family history, if you have a long lost ancestor you'd never heard of, or where certain family traits originate,? Come down to the Suffolk Family History free drop-in session on Wednesday 14th January between 10am-12noon to receive hints and tips on how to get started organising a family tree.

Join the Music in our Bones event on Friday 16th January. Presenting HeartSong - Sing & Feel Good, find confidence by singing with others. Supported by Suffolk Family Carers, the event will go on from 1-3pm in the Conference Room.

With so many exciting events, brilliant new books and activities for the kids, there's lots to look forward to at Bury Library next year.
