The Hidden Gardens Come Alive...
Annual charity event, Bury's Hidden Gardens, will be co-sponsored by Duttons Estate Agents and Gross & Co Solicitors for the third year running. On Fathers Day, the 15th June, an impressive 37 gardens will be open to the public between 11am -5pm.
The event, which has been running for 27 years, has raised an astounding £300,000 for St Nicholas Hospice Care. With so many beautiful gardens in the town centre that are rarely seen, this is an exciting event for the green fingered in our community, as well as a fantastic fundraising scheme.
Through offering sponsorship for the day, Duttons and Gross & Co ensure that almost the entire proceeds from the event can go to charity, last year's total being an all time high of £23,000.
“My firm has worked closely with St Nicholas’ Hospice for many years. We know the work they do and the challenges they face to source funding. I am a keen gardener and putting the two ideas together is a perfect combination for us,” explained Elizabeth Hodder, Partner in Gross & Co.
Emmerson Dutton said of the upcoming event; “So many houses in the town centre have such lovely gardens, so the opportunity to raise money for such a worthwhile charity together with the prospect of visiting these wonderful gardens makes for an enjoyable and worthwhile day out for the whole community and beyond. We are thrilled to play our part in the event once again”.
Tickets, £5, can be bought on the day and tax payers are invited to Gift Aid entrance money.
