Animatronic puppetry comes to arc with Squawk...

Watch out on Monday 15th August as two vibrant birds in all the colours of the rainbow will be exploring arc shopping centre with inquisitive beaks and joyful squawks. Shoppers will marvel at the exotic beauty of these larger than life avian amigos and brave kids can make friendship felt by stepping forward for a bright and brilliant photo, they won’t bite, but they may decide on being friends forever!

Squawk is visiting as part of arc shopping centre’s Noah’s Arc series of events. Throughout the school summer holiday’s shoppers will get the chance to meet lots of animals as Noah’s arc will be stopping of at arc shopping centre every Monday. Families are invited to visit the centre each week to meet the animals who will be a mixture of famous costume characters, fun and interactive entertainers and even some real ones that children can get up close and personal with and learn all about them.

Be sure to head to Waterstones where at three points during the day our giant birds will be attending Storytime; 10 minute story session readings of The Owl and the Pussycat written by Ian Beck. These sessions will be taking place at 11am, 1pm & 3pm.

As well as the chance to meet the animals, visitors will also be able to win a £50 shopping spree. Shoppers can put their face in the hole to become one of Noah’s animals, those who snap a photo and share it on the shopping centre’s Facebook page will be in with a chance of winning the prize.

Colin Roberts is the centre manager at arc shopping centre, he said; “the puppetry behind Squawk beggars belief. The control and realism of movement is a joy to behold. They are both a little cheeky but kids will love the opportunity to get up close and personal with these giant birds and get some photos to remember. ”
