Late night shopping comes to arc with free games and entertainment...
The Bury St Edmunds Christmas light switch on happens on Thursday the 19th November and arc shopping centre will be joining in the festivities with fun and games and vocal cheer between 4pm and 8pm in Charter Square.
Alongside late opening shops there will be the chance to test your rodeo skills as you can take on the mighty mechanical reindeer, a seasonal take on a fun favorite. There will also be festive twists on carnival classics such as hook a present and a Santa shy. Everything will be free to take part in and there are prizes to be won!
From 4:30pm there will also be musical entertainment. Local singing group, Discord, will be performing festive songs in Charter Square at 4:30pm and again at 5:30pm. They will be followed by the cast of Jesus and his Technicolour Dreamcoat, who have an upcoming show in the APEX, at 5pm and again at 6pm.
After the switch on event, every Thursday, in the lead up to Christmas, most of the shops at arc will be staying open until 8pm, some will be open until 9pm and Debenhams will be open until 10pm, what’s more, after 4pm the parking will be free!
Centre manager, Colin Roberts, said; “The Christmas light switch on marks the start of our late night shopping and brings such a great buzz to the centre. We are delighted to be able to host these fun games and activates for families to enjoy and really hope they have fun and join in, the countdown to Christmas has now truly begun!”
