Mouth-watering menu revealed for Our Bury St Edmunds Festival...

Suffolk’s foodie capital is unveiling a feast for the senses in announcing the first details of the 2022 Our Bury St Edmunds Food & Drink Festival this August Bank Holiday weekend. Some of the town’s most popular restaurateurs are already drawing up special menus for two days of theatre kitchen displays from the people who’ve put Bury on the culinary map in the last few years.

The free event, promises a weekend of foodie treats and displays as well as a host of family fun. A full stage programme showcasing some of the town’s favourite food and drink establishments will complement a farmers’ market and scores of stalls selling everything from gins to granolas and beers to burgers, with something to tempt everyone’s taste buds.

This year is the tenth anniversary of the first Our Bury St Edmunds Food & Drink Festival organised by the Business Improvement District (BID) organisation for the town. Our Bury St Edmunds Chief Executive Mark Cordell said: “Since we started this event in 2012 we have tried to offer something a little different each year and 2022 is no exception. We are shining a spotlight on many of the local highlights that make Bury the foodie capital of Suffolk.

“Among our BID member businesses getting involved in the festival are a number of our established restaurants such as Maison Bleue, 1921 and Casa with their chefs giving demonstrations in the Stoves Cookery Theatre. Others are having a stall as part of the event or doing something special at their own premises over the weekend. We’re also involving member businesses from our partner organisation Bury St Edmunds and Beyond such as The Northgate and ICE. Bury has around one in four of almost 90 food and drink establishments with awards to their name and this event is a great showcase for them.”

The event will also give an opportunity to the stars of the future with demonstrations from West Suffolk College and have advice for those looking to cut down on food waste thanks to local charity Still Good Food.

For younger visitors there will be a range of children’s activities in and around the town centre, including face painting, fairground rides and free street entertainment across both days.
