Bury St Edmunds voted Best Place to Live in Suffolk...
Bury St Edmunds has been voted as the Best Place to Live in Suffolk by readers of urban guide to the countryside Muddy Stilettos.
Bury St Edmunds has been crowned Best Place to Live in Suffolk by readers of Muddy Stilettos in a recent competition ran by the online publication. After a tough battle between some of the most charming and quintessentially English towns and villages in Suffolk, votes were counted in Muddy's ‘Best Places to Live’ competition and Bury St Edmunds unsurprisingly took first place.
Muddy Stilettos wrote online: “Bury St Edmunds is known as the ‘jewel in the crown’ of Suffolk, a picture postcard of a market town, brimming with interesting things to see and do. Right at its heart is the medieval quarter with the beautiful Abbey gardens and St Edmundsbury Cathedral. Meander along cobbled streets to find an abundance of quirky and stylish shops, plus numerous home-grown bars, cafes, and restaurants.”
“You’re really spoilt for choice in this compact town that seems to have more than its fair share of incredible eateries. Bury St Edmunds is also historically and culturally-rich, has a lively arts scene and a lovely, friendly community spirit that make it a very special place to visit as well as to live”.
