New app launched in Bury St Edmunds ‘bouncing back’ campaign

Shoppers in Bury St Edmunds can keep ahead of the latest special offers from town centre businesses thanks to a multi-award winning app that’s been launched in the town as part of the ‘Bury Bouncing Back’ campaign.

Our Bury St Edmunds has partnered with LoyalFree, an innovative mobile phone app which helps connect people to special offers in their area. Already live in over 20 towns and cities in England and Scotland, the app offers local digital loyalty schemes, tourism information, tours, trails and events. Users benefit by using one app across the UK – so they can tap into the local area wherever they are.

It’s been introduced in the town by the Business Improvement District (BID) organisation Our Bury St Edmunds as part of the recovery plan from the Covic-19 pandemic and will be available to more than 400 BID business members.

Mike Kirkham, Business Support and Marketing Officer at Our Bury St Edmunds commented: ‘‘We are excited to offer this digital platform to our businesses at this critical time. We hope it will encourage more people to support our town centre and take full advantage of everything we have to offer here.’’

Businesses in the town will benefit from advertising opportunities, customer insights and social media support. Local businesses already signed up to the app include Queens Bar & Grill, Moriarty’s and Premier Travel, with more being added every week.

LoyalFree’s digital trails are one way app users can explore the history of the area, hidden gems and best independents. There are already four exciting trails live on the app including the Bury St Edmunds Dog Friendly Trail, showcasing over 90 local businesses that will welcome your pooch! In the future, interactive experiences in the town will also be run through the app.

Sophie Hainsworth, co-founder of LoyalFree, added: ‘‘We are overjoyed to be launching the app in Bury St Edmunds. The town has a lovely variety of businesses and we hope locals and visitors will enjoy them by making the most of the app.’’

Those who download the app before the 13th September can be in with a chance of winning one of three local vouchers worth up to £100! The in-app competition can be entered with just one click every day for even more chances to win.
