See the stars by rickshaw – thanks to town centre Accountants

Star-struck visitors to Bury St Edmunds will be able to take part in the latest Our Bury St Edmunds trail competition in the town centre – by travelling by rickshaw. The Theatre Star Trail, celebrating 200 years of the town’s Theatre Royal, begins this weekend and Bury St Edmunds Rickshaw will be offering tours of the Theatre Star Trail to people who have limited mobility or experience social isolation.

Announcing their support for the Rickshaw this week Jacobs Allen Chartered Accountants and Chartered Tax Advisors also took the opportunity to have a close up view of the ‘Star’ the company will be sponsoring as part of the display.

Director of Jacobs Allen Sheila Burke said: “The Our Bury St Edmunds trails in previous years have been unique and wonderful initiatives, so when the opportunity came up to be part of the celebratory Star Trail for Theatre Royal we couldn’t refuse. We have chosen the ‘Gyles Brandreth Star’ and are thrilled that it’s going to be placed just outside our offices on Abbeygate Street as well.

"In addition to this we are announcing our sponsorship of Bury St Edmunds Rickshaw for this season. The volunteers who operate the Rickshaw make such a difference to the lives of people who might not otherwise be able to come into the town centre. It’s a worthy cause and one we are proud to support.”

Libby Ranzetta from Bury St Edmunds Rickshaw added: “The sponsorship from Jacobs Allen is very generous and will mean we can continue to provide a free service for people who benefit so much by being able to spend time with a Chatty Chum and make the most of the town centre too. We’re all looking forward to spotting all the stars with our passengers throughout the summer.”

As with previous Our Bury St Edmunds Trails, those who ‘find’ all the stars will be able to enter a draw for one of 10 prizes. The stars will be in place around the town between May 25 and October 27. Chief Executive of Our Bury St Edmunds Mark Cordell said: “The Theatre Royal is part of Bury St Edmunds’ wonderful heritage and has had some of the biggest names in showbusiness appear on its stage. We hope participants enjoy tracking down all the different stars whether they are doing so on foot or by Rickshaw.”

The trail leaflet containing full details of the competition is available from all the Tourist Information Points in the town centre. For more information visit
