Santa’s Grotto prepares to welcome visitors in Bury St Edmunds

Father Christmas and his elves are putting the final finishing touches to their log cabin grotto in Charter Square as they prepare to welcome children from this Saturday (December 1). Once again a team of Santa’s helpers from Our Bury St Edmunds, the Town Council and arc shopping centre have worked together to make his visit to Bury St Edmunds possible.

As well as Father Christmas’s log cabin grotto, later in December arc will also be hosting dodgem cars and a carousel to entertain Christmas shoppers. Parents who want to ensure their children get to meet Father Christmas on the day and time of their choice are being advised to book tickets in advance as popular time slots are expected to sell out.

Chief Executive of Our Bury St Edmunds Mark Cordell said: “Santa’s grotto was in Charter Square for the first time last Christmas and was hugely popular. Our youngest visitors were delighted to meet him and with tickets at just £5 we believe this is one of the best value grottos in the region. Santa and the elves even assisted with a proposal of marriage on Christmas Eve last year. It really brought the magic of Christmas to the town.”

Admission to the grotto will be by ticket only. Bookings can be made in advance, although a number of limited places will be available to buy on the day. Tickets can be booked now at www.ourburystedmunds/christmas. The dodgems and carousel will be pay on arrival.

Santa’s grotto will be open between 11am and 5pm every day from December 1 until Christmas Eve. The dodgems will be opening on December 15.
