Motorsport show gets chequered flag for Whitsun Fayre...
Motorsports enthusiasts will be in for a treat at the annual Ourburystedmunds Whitsun Fayre at the end of this month as a display of cars and sporting vehicles is to be incorporated into the event for the first time.
Angel Hill will showcase a selection of vehicles including some rare Ford RS rally cars, which are being brought to the show from Staffordshire. Around 20 vehicles, mainly owned by local motorsports enthusiasts, will be on display over the two days.
The free event will also have a variety of popular attractions from recent years including the urban beach, mini-farm and flower and plant market.
Chief Executive of Ourburystedmunds Mark Cordell said: “Since the Business Improvement District took over this event we’ve constantly looked to build on the attractions year on year so that it’s always different. I’m sure the motorsports show, which is being curated by Arthur Debenham, will be a big draw but we know that the beach in The Traverse is always hugely popular and the range of stalls in the Buttermarket and Cornhill will offer something for everyone.”
Children will be able to enjoy lots of free activities ranging from a circus skills workshop to giant board games as well as face-painting, a magician and other street entertainment.
The Whitsun Fayre will be supporting the Lifeboats charity the RNLI again this year. Ourburystedmunds has supplied sticks of seaside rock for volunteers to sell to raise funds at the beach.
Admission to the event is free and it runs from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 29 and Bank Holiday Monday 30 May. For more information visit www.burystedmundsfestivals.com.
