The Alex Howard Project - Strange Fruit...
Following the opening of Pop- Up Gallery Elsey’s Gallery off Risbygate St, Bury St Edmund, Arts graduate Alex Howard is currently preparing for his photographic exhibition Strange Fruit as fine art photographer in residence during January 2014.
Strange Fruit is both a reference to the famous anti -racist ballad as sung by Billie Holiday and also speaks of how Alex perceived his journey to an unfamiliar culture. Now returned to his home in Moreton Hall after graduating with flying colours from Camberwell Art College, his forthcoming exhibition “Strange Fruit” is a result of a journey to the Southern States of the US with a photographer friend. Showing his exhibition at Elsey’s Gallery has enabled him to have studio space and plan and execute his first commercial exhibition.
Elsey’s Gallery is set to continue and is committed to ethical business practice, promoting high quality exhibitions and charges a fair price both to artists and buyers.
