Bury St. Edmunds is Alive with the Sound of...Fandom!...
Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds is excited to welcome West-End star, Sarah-Louise Young, in a fascinating musical show that proudly celebrates the life and celebrity of Dame Julie Andrews, and Sarah-Louise’s hero-worship of that iconic lady, on 16 April!
For one night only, the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds is thrilled to host this exceptional production which celebrates the musical legend, Julie Andrews. National audiences continue to be dazzled by the seamless blend of autobiography, anecdote and arpeggio in this charming but cheeky cabaret show which is written and performed by the impressive West End star, Sarah- Louise Young.
After the sell-out success of cabaret trio Fascinating Aïda at the Theatre Royal, Young returns with her own show. This time she allows her award-winning voice to luxuriate in Andrews’ songs, elocution and general English reserve, Young tips a celebratory and playful nod to the range of popular characters that Andrews has embodied throughout her triumphant career.
Much more than imitation, Young showcases her diverse theatrical background, challenging the audience to look at Julie Andrews in a new light whilst remaining respectful to the true brilliance of the classic English star. With Time Out recently listing Young as one of the top ten cabaret performers of the moment, now is the time to catch this spectacular show as it visits our region.
