Unique dining at the Cathedral
On Saturday 27 April a lucky couple will enjoy a unique experience at St Edmundsbury Cathedral - dinner for two under the Tower.
In 2012 Sean and Jessica West bid for this prize in an online auction organised by the Friends of the Cathedral Choir, an independent charity which exists to support the work of the Cathedral Choir.
In total the auction raised in excess of £6000, with successful bidders scooping prizes such as a chance to play the Cathedral organ and a day’s sailing.
Mr and Mrs West’s prize includes having their own private three course dinner prepared by the chef at The Angel, to an accompaniment of piano music provided by the Cathedral's Director of Music, Mr James Thomas. Also included in the prize is a night's accommodation at The Angel.
‘The auction is an imaginative way to raise significant funds to support Cathedral music,’ comments Sarah Friswell, PR Manager at St Edmundsbury Cathedral. ‘And what a great prize! This is a truly unique experience.’
The Cathedral is open daily to visitors. The Millennium tower was completed in 2005 with the magnificent vaulted ceiling added in 2010. The Angel, opposite the Cathedral, offers fine dining and 4 star accommodation.
