New Year’s Day Cathedral Tours...

On Saturday 1st January 2022 at 11 am, St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds, are offering a special New Year’s Day Guided Tour. The tour will last approximately an hour and will give attendees the chance to learn the stories and histories of the Cathedral and its development.


Visitors will learn the story of St Edmund, how the Cathedral is linked to the story of the Abbey and the role Stephen Dykes Bower played in the making of the Cathedral. Architectural highlights will be explored and attendees will also hear more about Bury St Edmunds’s links with the US.


Visitor Experience Manager, Sarah Friswell, said, ‘Our Cathedral Tour is the perfect chance to get out after the Christmas and New Year season and spend a morning exploring our local heritage with family and friends.’
