A Show of Hope...
‘A Show of Hope’ is the inspiring title of the first exhibition in the Cathedral Cloisters, Bury St Edmunds, for over a year. Created by students from West Suffolk College, the exhibition of framed images will be open to the public from Saturday 22 May to Saturday 5 June.
Students on the UAL Diploma in Art & Design - Foundation Studies have used their creative skills to produce a series of artworks in connection with St Edmundsbury Cathedral responding to the theme of ‘Hope’.
Sarah Friswell, Visitor Experience Manager said: “We are delighted to host this exhibition as the Cathedral re-opens to visitors, after this long period of lockdown. The theme of Hope has clearly caught the imagination of the students and we hope that it will in turn inspire visitors to think about the signs of hope all around us, after such a difficult year.”
The Cathedral is open Mondays to Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm and Sundays from 12.30 pm to 3 pm. The Cloisters form an elegant walkway alongside the Cathedral, creating the perfect space for exhibitions. The exhibition can be accessed from Angel Hill via steps or from the Pilgrims’ Kitchen garden entrance with flat access.
