Family Activity Day – February Half Term ...
Free activities are on offer at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds, at the popular Family Activity Day, organised by the Cathedral’s Discovery Centre team for February half term. This takes place on Wednesday 17 February from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.
The theme for this activity day is ‘The Lent Journey’ and it will include the chance to get involved in an exciting new project. Children and adults can record their responses to stories they will hear in a new ‘recording booth’. These reflections and conversations will then become part of a larger project called I-Wonder.
Just pop in at any time during the day and join in a range of craft activities, quizzes, trails and stories aimed at children aged 5-12. Children must be accompanied. ‘For many children entering the Cathedral for the first time, their reaction is simply ‘Wow!’’ comments Helen Woodroffe, Cathedral Children’s Education Officer. ‘We want to capture that sense of awe and wonder and give children, their parents, grandparents or carers the chance to spend time together and have a bit of fun.’
The activity days are free of charge but donations are welcome. Further information from the Discovery Centre on 01284 748734 or email@example.com.
