The Big Draw at the Cathedral...
The Big Draw at the Cathedral
As part of the Family Arts Festival St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds, is offering a ‘Big Draw’ day on Wednesday 30 October from 10 am to 4 pm.
There will be the chance to add a drawing to a large strip of paper which will extend down the length of the Nave of the Cathedral. People will be asked to draw something in response to the questions, ‘What makes this space so special? How does it make you feel treading in the footsteps of thousands of people before you? Which part of the building speaks of God to you and why?
‘We want people to crouch, lie on their backs, find unusual angles and draw,’ comments Helen Woodroffe, Children’s Education Officer. ‘We will have various media available including charcoal and oil pastels.’
There will also be the option of making rubbings with wax crayons and creating collages using photographs and coloured images.
The event is free of charge and visitors can drop in at any time during the day.
