Tuesday Evenings at the Cathedral
The new series of ‘Tuesday Evenings at the Cathedral’ opens at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds, on Tuesday 8 October. The series offers lectures and discussion on God and the world, religion and spirituality and the Bible.
The opening lecture is entitled The Psalms: Recovering the heart of Christian Spirituality and is given by the Revd Dr Philip Jenson, a Lecturer in Old Testament and Biblical Theology at Ridley Hall, Cambridge.
‘The Tuesday Evenings series is open to all and offers stimulating ‘food for thought’’, comments Canon Chris Burdon, Canon Theologian at the Cathedral. ‘In the course of a year we will cover topics as diverse as art and morals, pilgrimage and justice and development in a global context.’
The series continues on a monthly basis, meeting in the Cathedral’s Lecture Room on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.30 pm. There is no charge to attend, though donations are always welcome, and people can come to one or all of the series.
The Cathedral Shop, which is open daily, stocks a range of books complementary to the themes being discussed.
