Launch of Bury St Edmunds Young Professionals...

The Bury St Edmunds Young Professionals has announced details of its upcoming launch event.

Bury St Edmunds Young Professionals is a new group for up and coming professionals and business people across Bury St Edmunds and the wider area. Its aim is to give members the opportunity to meet with other like-minded individuals in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The group will be holding events throughout the course of the year, including a summer BBQ, bowling and a curry night, as well as informal after work drinks events.

The group’s founders are Andrew Cooper (solicitor at Greene & Greene), Rupert Harlow (Investment Assistant at JM Finn & Co), Wayne Horrex (assistant manager at Ensors), Sarah Levett (trainee consultant at Mattioli Woods), Emma Robinson (solicitor at Ashton KCJ) and Oliver Squirrel (founder and MD of Pop My Mind). They founded the group to ensure that there were opportunities for young professionals and business people in the town to meet on a regular basis.

“The purpose of the Young Professionals is to allow like-minded people from across the town to come together in a relaxed environment. The idea is that you turn up to an event after work and have an enjoyable evening in good company.” said Oliver Squirrel.

“We have managed to secure sponsorship from a number of local businesses, meaning we can subsidise the cost of certain events, which we hope will encourage people to come along and see what we are about.”

The Young Professionals is launching at Ivory, in the centre of Bury St Edmunds, on Thursday 23rd April at 6pm, where attendees will be treated to an evening of fine wine tasting, accompanied by a selection of meats, cheeses, salads and chutneys. The evening will conclude with a tasting competition and a prize will be awarded to the winning team. Tickets for the event cost just £10 per person, and places are limited.
