17/09/2020New Cocktail Trail for Town Centre AppOne of the many benefits of the new town centre app is the creation of tours and trails to help encourage footfall and promote BID businesses – we have already added The Ale Trail, Dog Friendly Trail, Great Deals on Great Meals and Blue Plaque Trail. Trails provide another great way to help visitors explore the town centre and discover businesses, and depending on your business you could feature on multiple trails. The next trail we’d like to add is a Cocktail Trail and to ensure we don’t miss any businesses that offers cocktails please email mike.kirkham@ourburystedmunds.com and let him know you’d like to be added.

17/09/2020Planet Earth is coming to town!To quote Duran Duran. “This is Planet Earth!” and it’s in the Apex from the 3rd to the 18th October inclusive! Why not make the most of your lunch break and visit Gaia - the seven-metre replica of planet Earth which will be suspended three meters above The Apex’s auditorium floor. Gaia has recently been shown in Hong Kong, Australia, Taiwan and at the Natural History Museum in London, so we're delighted to have her in Bury St Edmunds! Attached is a photo of what to expect and it follows on from the large moon that visited the Apex last year.

Footfall data reports

Key Performance Indicators are essential if the “health” of the town is to be accurately assessed and analysed. These indicators will cover a number of issues including car parking usage, business profitability and footfall data.

On behalf of our members, Springboard, a nationally reputable company who work with the Association of Town and City Management, provide a footfall camera in Abbeygate Street and this was fitted in November 2012 and collects data regulary. On a monthly and yearly basis we can compare our performance against other towns and cities in East Anglia and the country. Each month we will post the report we receive from Springboard on this site for all our members to view.
