Supported Advice Project Workers
Citizens AdviceWe are looking for a Supported Advice Project Workers
These exciting roles are in the Supported Advice Service Team and is based in our offices in Bury St Edmunds, but you may need to work from one of our other offices. You will be working as part of a team supporting clients who have poor mental health. The role reports to the Operations Manager.
Key work areas and tasks:
Advice Work
- Provide advice covering the full range of issues including benefits, debt, housing, employment, and energy.
- Complete benefit checks and assist with applying for benefits including form filling.
- Access grants and charitable support for clients as required.
- Prepare and present cases to statutory bodies, tribunals and courts and negotiate with third parties as appropriate.
- Assist clients where necessary by negotiating, drafting or writing letters and telephoning.
- Maintain case records for the purposes of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation.
- Ensure that all advice work conforms to the organisation’s Office Manual and the Advice Quality Standard and the specialist Quality Mark as appropriate.
Terms and conditions
Hours: 48 hours a week between two people – one full time and one part time or two part time.
Salary: £24,425 to £25,413 per annum pro rata depending on experience.
Employment Status: One-year fixed term with a possibility of extension dependent on funding.
Base: Bury St Edmunds.
Pension: Eligible employees will be enrolled into the workplace pension scheme with NEST – 3% employer and 5% employee contribution.
Contractual Sick Pay to include SSP: 4 weeks full pay and 4 weeks half pay on a rolling 12-month basis, after completion of the 6-month probation period.
Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks per annum to include bank holidays.
