Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our small team in a fast-paced restaurant setting where we aim to deliver outstanding service to customers with our unique and award-winning food offering. The role will involve supporting the chefs in maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment as well as supporting with preparation of produce before service.

Responsibilities

– Work with the chefs and front of house team to ensure clean equipment is readily available throughout the working day.
– Maintain high standards with hygiene in the kitchen environment and ensure chemicals are used appropriately and readily available for all staff to use when needed.
– Support the chefs with the delivery of produce by putting this away once it has been checked for quality.

-Manage the disposal of waste appropriately, supporting the recycling of certain materials and ensuring the bin areas are kept clean and tidy.
– Comply with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
– Supporting the kitchen team with ad-hoc tasks as required to ensure preparation and service runs smoothly

-Carry out weekly deep cleans of the kitchen.

Skills and Experience (essential)
– Knowledge of food hygiene standards

– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment

– Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to work

Skills and Experience (desirable)
– Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques

– Experience in a similar role

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £6.40-£11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 25 per week
