During World War Two, some 70,000 British girls married American servicemen and this talk covers the obstacles facing young women from East Anglia who fell for a GI – the anxieties as loved ones went to war, sometimes never to return.

Love & War in Suffolk Exhibition
The exhibition will explore the impact that the war had on romantic relationships in Suffolk, with its unique position being so close to Europe. This resulted in an influx of service personnel from many allied countries, exposing local population to groups of people they might never ordinarily have met.

Spring Fayre 2023

Jewellery Making with Don Sankey
We have also been speaking with Don, a local silversmith to offer a small, one of ring making workshop. We would be looking to hold this on a Thursday evening in May. These groups will support young people who are learning disabled or neurodivergent to build their confidence, make new friends and participate in non-verbal creative play in a fun and friendly environment.
