Next years event will take place on Sunday 24^th and Monday 25^th August 2014

Sunday 25th and Monday 26th August 2013 are the dates for foodies to keep free as Bid4Bury delivers its second Bury St Edmunds Food & Drink Festival, including Celebrity Chefs Aldo Zilli and Mark Poynton, a Chilli Festival, a Farmers’ Market, Street Entertainment, and much more.  Many Bid4Bury members have already signed up to be part of the celebrations.  Eight of our food establishments in the town centre will be taking part in the cookery demonstrations throughout the event.

Celebrity chef Aldo Zilli will take to the stage at the Bury St Edmunds Food & Drink Festival this year as one of the headline acts of the 2 day bank holiday event.  The Italian-born chef who made his name on the restaurant scene in Soho will top the bill on Monday 26th August at the event organised by Bid4Bury.  Aldo is a specialist in Italian, vegetarian, and seafood cuisine.  He ran restaurants in London for more than 15 years, has written 10 books and has appeared on countless TV and radio shows as well as writing magazine and newspaper columns.

Mark Poynton is one of the region’s top chefs and is the latest to sign up for an appearance at the Bury St Edmunds Food & Drink Festival this year.  Mark Poynton from Michelin-starred Alimentum in Cambridge will headline the cooking demonstrations at the event on Sunday 25th August.  Mark’s style is to apply classic cooking techniques to seasonable British produce.
