Whether you’re looking for a relaxed coffee stop, somewhere new for dinner, or a place to meet friends for drinks, the latest food and drink openings offer plenty of reasons to explore more of the town centre.

Alema Coffee on Abbeygate Street brings expertly sourced Ecuadorian coffee directly from farm to cup, while nearby PrimaVista offers a fresh take on the modern Italian trattoria with seasonal dishes and contemporary interiors.

Indies Weekend takes place on 4th and 5th July 2026, celebrating the fantastic independent businesses that make Bury St Edmunds unique.

Launching at the same time is the new 66 World Cup Trail, commemorating the 60th anniversary of England’s 1966 World Cup victory. Running from 4th July to 6th September, the free trail will feature ten football-themed items hidden across participating businesses throughout the town centre, encouraging visitors to discover even more of Bury St Edmunds’ independent businesses.
