8. Have a go on the Vintage Dodgems & Carousel
Not only can you meet Santa in Charter Square this Christmas, but you can also have a go on the brilliant vintage dodgems and carousel! Available from 30th November to 31st December, these classic attractions never fail to entertain!
These excellent rides are open every day except Christmas Day and Boxing Day from 10am-5:30pm and later on late night shopping. Fancy having them all to yourself? Both are available for private hire on Monday and Friday evenings!

9. Experience Moyse’s Hall Museum
This ancient building dates back to 1180 and has a wealth of history and character. After some time as a prison, then a police station, it became a museum in 1899 and has remained as one ever since.
Moyse’s Hall Museum is a great place to learn about the local history of Bury St Edmunds any time of year, but at Christmas time there are loads of great shows and activities for you to enjoy like theatre, performances and Santa’s Grotto!

10. Traditional Christmas Carols in the Cathedral
Finally, no Christmas would be complete without a traditional carol service, and what better place to have it than the spectacular surroundings and acoustics of St Edmundsbury Cathedral?
The service takes place on 23rd December at 7:00pm and is free of charge with donations welcome on the night.
