Celebrity Gardeners at the Whitsun Fayre

Posted on Friday, 21st April, 2017

We cannot wait until the fantastic Whitsun Fayre 2017 in Bury St Edmunds! This amazing free event brings with it some brilliant entertainment, including a motorsports show, fairground rides, the ever-popular urban beach, a range of stalls, and animals at the family-favourite mini-farm.

However, as amazing as all this is, arguably the most exciting part will be the appearance of not one, but two celebrity gardeners!

Katie Rushworth from ITV’s Love Your Garden and Joe Swift from BBC 2’s flagship gardening show, Gardeners World will be talking about their work and answering gardening questions in Bury St Edmunds town centre over the Whitsun Bank Holiday weekend.

Here’s a little bit more about them:

Katie Rushworth

Katie is currently part of the successful presenting/gardening team from ITV’s Love Your Garden. Now in its sixth series the show is proving very popular with the primetime audience and the brand is going from strength to strength with Katie being an integral part of the show.

Katie found her passion and skill for gardening when she first did garden maintenance locally in Yorkshire. She decided to turn this love affair with gardening into a career after studying horticulture at night school and working part time at her local garden centre. Katie has a Degree in Garden Design and takes pride in having the skills to maintain and design gardens from both a horticulture and design-based perspective.

Joe Swift

Joe has been gardening since he left school and is a fully trained garden designer. He has been one of the main presenters on BBC2's flagship gardening show 'Gardeners World' since 1998 and also regularly appears in the BBC's coverage of RHS Chelsea, Hampton Court, Gardeners World Live and Tatton Park Flower shows.

Over the years Joe has fronted Open Gardens, Small Town Gardens, Garden Makers and Garden Invaders. He has also designed many gardens for TV, including one for Comic Relief, many for Gardeners World, and all of Alan Titchmarsh's 'How to be a Gardener 2' series.

Don’t miss your chance to take some tips from the best! Make sure you head along to the Whitsun Fayre on Sunday 28th and Monday 29th May!
