What’s on in Bury St Edmunds this Christmas

Bury St Edmunds is going to be a hive of activity this Christmas and with a vast selection of events planned across the town, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Take a look at what’s on in Bury St Edmunds this Christmas.

Thursday 19th November

The Bury St Edmunds lights switch on marks the start of Christmas and this year, the event will welcome penguins, huskies, reindeer and Father Christmas to get the whole town in the festive spirit.

Thursday 26th November - Sunday 29th November.

One of the best Christmas Fayre’s in the region will feature non-stop entertainment, gifts galore and lots of seasonal delights for all to try and enjoy - it’s one not to miss!

Friday 27th November - Sunday 10th January

Join the Theatre Royal for their traditional family pantomime, Jack & The Beanstalk. Expect even more laughs, magic and music with the story of Jack, a handful of beans, a cow and a giant.

Friday 4th December

It’s the renowned Christmas Wine Tasting at Thos Peatling’s. Buy your ticket for £25 and it’s redeemable against a case of 12 bottles ordered on the night. Tickets available through the shop on 01284 755948.

Saturday 5th December - Sunday 3rd January

There's nothing like having a skate on the ice to get you in the festive mood and for the first time ever, a real ice skating rink is coming to town, courtesy of Ourburystedmunds. Tickets start at £8.50 for adults and you can purchase all tickets in advance by clicking here.

Monday 14th Decmber

Enjoy an evening with Roy Wood and his Rock and Roll Christmas Party. He’ll be singing all his hit songs including ‘I Can Hear The Grass Grow’, ‘Flowers In The Rain’, ‘See My Baby Jive’, and of course ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday’ at The Apex.

Monday 21st December

Book tickets to the enchanting new version of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale adventure, featuring new songs, beautiful costumes, scenery and a host of colourful characters. A fun, frosty, fast paced adventure that will melt your heart.

Tuesday 29th December

The award-winning Children’s Theatre Company bring to life the Biblical saga of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. This delightful musical features classic tunes for you to hum along to including “Any Dream Will Do”, “Go, Go, Joseph”, “Close Every Door” and many more!
