Daily Tours


Discover 1,000 years of history – from monks and martyrs to Saxon kings and Tudor queens, from talking wolves and Magna Carta to Georgian chic and Mr Pickwick - you’ll find them all in Bury St Edmunds. Our 2.00pm Daily Tour runs every day from July to November. Tickets are £7 for Adults, under 16s free.

Silver Screen


Please check that the event is going ahead before attending due to the ongoing pandemic. The first film screening in each screen every Friday. Are you over 60? Parent & baby Screenings


Every Tuesday* at 10.30am. Our free to join club for parents and carers with babies under one year old. Members can bring their baby to the film without having to worry about causing a disturbance. Please note no pushchairs or prams are permitted in the screen. *From time to time we are unable to have a Parent & Baby Screening. Please check our website before travelling to the cinema.

Greene King Walk, Talk and Tasting Tour


Take a walk through Greene King’s history with a knowledgeable guide and discover their oldest buildings and their uses. In the cafe, enjoy a virtual brewery tour alongside a tutored beer tasting. You will receive a free bottle of beer to take away and a 10% off voucher to spend in the café and the shop on the day. Socially distanced tours with a maximum of 6 people. Ticket £18

Walking Stories


Walking Stories is a brand-new project from Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds, which invited local people to tell the hidden stories of the place where they live. Download the audio file onto a suitable device. Each story has a beautifully illustrated map to accompany it which you can either print off at home or view on your device as you walk.

Non Verbal Youth Theatre - Age 8 to 12


Following support from the St Edmunds Trust and the GeeWizz Charitable Foundation, Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds are delighted to launch Youth Theatre Non-Verbal. These groups will support young people who are learning disabled or neurodivergent to build their confidence, make new friends and participate in non-verbal creative play in a fun and friendly environment.

The market charter was issued by King John in 1202 and there has been a market ever since.
