This year is the celebration of the 1000 year anniversary of the founding of the Abbey of St Edmunds and many events and activities are being organised to mark this. One of these is the Abbey1000 trail where people have to find 20 locations, around the town centre, with links to significant people or events linked to the town during the past thousand years. Entry is free and forms can either be downloaded online from this website, picked up at any of the Tourist Information Points in town or you can follow the trail digitally on our Loyal Free app. There are town centre shopping vouchers, to the total value of £250, up for grabs for 5 of those who submit their completed entry forms to the BID offices by 30th November. The trail opens on the 30th May and closes on St Edmunds Day (20th November).
