Le Marche comes to the town at new look Cafe Rouge...

Café Rouge Bury St Edmunds will be unveiling a beautifully redesigned bistro on the 2nd October 2015 with a design theme that celebrates Le Marchés of both Bury St Edmunds and Paris.

The new designs fit perfectly within the Grade II listed building. A striking wall mural depicting quintessential French market produce adorns the walls. Vintage mirrored artwork showing iconic market images are situated throughout the 180 cover restaurant.

The expansive secret garden to the rear of restaurant has been beautifully updated. Now partially covered by large umbrellas and heated lamps, guests can dine al fresco all year round in the specially crafted fixed booth seating. Come the summer the newly decked area will become the hot spot!

As well as the new look, the bistro is pleased to present an updated menu for winter 2015. Executive Chef Duncan McEwan has explored 26 years of Café Rouge menus and French cuisine – from their debut offering in 1989 right through to current French food trends. (See editors’ notes below for more details). The menu which launched on the 29th September now includes classic French dishes such as Lobster Bisque, Merguez Baguette (Spiced beef & lamb sausage) and Seabass En Papillote.

The sensational new-look restaurant serves breakfast (perfectly cooked Eggs Benedict, Warm Baked Chouquettes and Truffled Mushrooms on Toast to name a few) through lunches (including Menu Rapide – perfect for business meets) to dinner and after work drinks.

To complement their new menu, Café Rouge has partnered with Bibendum, who are dedicated to supplying the finest French wines from across the world. Together they have introduced an outstanding wine list featuring a selection of great quality and value wines, including De Castellane Champagne, Alsace Pinot Gris from Jean Biecher and Crozes Hermitage from Paul Jaboulet.

Café Rouge’s signature brand of relaxed, authentic French dining coupled with down-to- earth, friendly service make Bury St Edmunds local bistro the perfect place for business breakfasts, impromptu lunches, special occasion dinners and everything in between.

On the relaunch Restaurant Manager Matt Eve said, “A stunning new restaurant, and a stunning new menu to match! Its great times ahead for us here at Bury St Edmunds. With Christmas looming we are all set now for a great run into the festive period."
