Bury St Eds features in the news...

Last week saw the launch of the 'our bury st edmunds' phone app for Android phones and iPhones. It was a very successful launch that generated lots attention from local print, radio and TV media.  ITV Anglia came to film on the day of the launch and the footage from the app being used in Bury St Edmunds was broadcast on the following Mondays programme.

All those activities co-incided almost perfectly with The Portas Review that came out last week.  It gave recommendations on how the Government, Local Councils and businesses can improve our High Street.

Many of the points raised have already been implemented in Bury St Edmunds, and because of this Look East chose to broadcast a piece on the state of the High Street and what The Portas Review highlighted from last weeks late night shopping.  

They interviewed business owners and a spokesperson from the Bid4Bury initiative on how things are in the town economically and what is exactly being done to improve things.

The broadcast from Look East went out to the local area and it was also featured on the BBC 24 News channel.

There are lots of many positive things going on in Bury St Edmunds, and in these troubling times it is always encouraging to hear some good news stories!
