Fashion Retailer Hobbs to launch new collection with charity fashion event...

Leading British fashion retailer, Hobbs, will be unveiling their brand new Spring and Summer collection in a charity fashion show to be held at their store, in arc shopping centre, on Wednesday 13th April at 6:30pm. The event will be free to attend although guests will be encouraged to buy a raffle ticket to win some fantastic prizes with all the proceeds going to the Women’s Refuge. There will also be nibbles and drinks being served throughout the event.

Bury St Edmunds Women’s Refuge was established in 1974 to provide safety and support for women and children experiencing Domestic Abuse. The Refuge has living accommodation for up to 23 bed spaces and offer temporary accommodation in a safe and supportive refuge where women and their children can recover from the traumatic effects of domestic violence, taking time to make informed choices. The centre also offers a range of community services, courses and counselling to support women to rebuild their lives after abuse.

One confirmed attendee will be the Mayor of St Edmundsbury, Cllr Patrick Chung. The Women’s Refuge is one of his nominated charities of the year. Cllr Chung said: “With my mayoral year soon coming to a close, I will soon be passing on my robes to my successor and so I am delighted to be attending this event not only to see what the latest fashions are but also to raise money for a really important cause. The work of The Women’s Refuge is imperative in helping not only shelter the victims of domestic abuse but in supporting them as they try to rebuild their lives. I hope people will join me for this fashion fund-raiser.”

Tracey Zahra-Norris is the manager of the store, she said; “We are looking forward to a wonderful launch for our new collection and will be a great way to raise money for a fantastic local charity.”

Spaces for the event are limited and must be reserved. Please either pop into the store or call them on 01284 761598 to reserve your space.
