Where to park in Bury St Edmunds

Bury St Edmunds is a bustling town with a lot of things to do, so we thought it might be helpful to post a guide of where to park for certain situations.

Where to park for Abbeygate Street

The closest area with lots of parking, including disabled spaces and coach parking is on Angel Hill. Not only will you be treated to a fantastic view as you get out of the car, but the parking is very close and convenient to Abbeygate Street, perfect for a spot of lunch, a browse of the shops and a walk through the Abbey Gardens afterwards!

Where to park for The arc Shopping Centre

The arc is equipped with lots of spacious parking right next door at Cattlemarket or Parkway multi storey.

Where to park all day

A good spot for all day parking is in Ram Meadow, which is just a few minutes walk from the town centre and offers all day parking as well as a weekly ticket, this could be a good option is you’re looking for where to park for work. St Andrews car park is another great option for parking all day as it’s a long stay.

Where to park for a speedy visit

The place for a quick pop to the shops is the car park on Robert Boby Way, close to shops such as TK Maxx, Neptune and Waitrose. It’s very cost effective for just an hour, and you are able to pay using the Ring Go app as well as at the machine. Whatever the reason of your visit, you will be sure to find the perfect spot at a reasonable price.

Don’t forget the council offers free parking from 3pm every Tuesday and until 1pm on town centre streets on Sundays, as well as all day in the Robert Boby Way car park.
