Half term is around the corner and you may already be planning how to keep the children entertained. Well, look no further as we have handpicked the top 10 things to do in Bury St Edmunds this October half term.

 

1. Bury St Edmunds Wolf Trail.

There’s no better way to get the children outside and enjoying the fresh air than going on the Bury Wolf Trail. There’s 26 beautifully crafted wolves located around the town centre for you to find. Download the trail here and see how many you can find. Over 5000 people have already taken part, so don’t miss out!

 

2. Kids Eat Free.

You don’t need to worry about packing a picnic during the Bury Wolf Trail as The Angel Hotel are offering a free lunch for all children that are taking part in the Wolf Trail when an adult’s lunch is purchased. You might event find a wolf inside the restaurant too!

 

3. A Magical, Musical Journey: Hubbub. Follow the trail of the mysterious blue beetle in the quest for a lost voice at The Apex. With original live music performed by musicians from the celebrated Aurora Orchestra, this enchanting new show is sure to captivate the children.

 

4. Historical Artifacts.

Moyse’s Hall is a great places to discover some of the greatest historic artifacts of the town. 

 

5. All About Film.

The Abbeygate Cinema is the perfect place to take the children during half term – especially on a wet day! Enjoy a bite to eat in No.4 Hatter Street before taking your seats on the reclining sofas for an hour or two of quiet and relaxation!

 

6. Tasty Treat.

Why not treat the little ones to something tasty to eat. From breakfast, right through to tea, we’ve got plenty of delicious eateries for you to visit. Check them out here.

 

7. Hansel and Gretel at The Apex.

This show brings together amazing magic, comedy, sets and costumes - all this as well as dragons, illusions and a full supporting cast set to wow the crowds... there might even be a custard pie or two!

 

8. Marty McDonald’s Farm.

Join in the adventure and sing along to your favourite songs, in an interactive theatre show with bags of fun and laughter down on the farm.

 

9. Play Time.

If the sun comes out, the Abbey Gardens playground is the perfect place to visit for an afternoon. As well as playing on the playground, you can hire a tennis court or play miniature golf.

 

10. Bury St Edmunds Football Club.

Take the children along to support their local football team in the match against Romford on Saturday 24th October.
