Pea Porridge, Bury St. Edmunds
Pea Porridge is an independently owned neighbourhood restaurant located on a square which was once a green, called “Pea Porridge Green”
The restaurant is tucked away in a quiet residential area on Cannon Street. The building was originally two cottages built in 1820 which later became a bakery. The restaurant now comprises three delightful unpretentious dinning rooms with old pine tables, an open fire and a splendid bakers oven.
The new owners Justin and Jurga Sharp share a passion for food and wine. They source top quality ingredients and with a Mediterranean feel to their food, simplicity has become genius in the kitchen.
Why not treat yourself to NORFOLK LOBSTER? ....hurry it's on the menu only in summer, book a table & reserve it, because they do sell out!
...“A real find”; with its “interesting and reasonably-priced food” and a good dose of “rustic charm” too, this “quirky backstreet restaurant” has been a “most welcome” arrival; it serves a hearty British menu “with lots of interesting ‘nose-to-tail’ dishes”...HARDEN'S GUIDE 2012...
